'Garden of Disguise' is rendered on a richly patterned fabric base, using layers of acrylic, coloursoft pencil, graphite, and charcoal. Sealed with spray varnish.
The figure emerges and recedes - part of the botanical print, yet distinct - inviting the viewer to look closer and question what is revealed and what remains hidden.
Her skin becomes entwined with flowers, a living camouflage of colour and beauty. Yet beneath this outward display lies the story of hidden fragility. The garden conceals, but it also protects — masking her pain while allowing her to carry on. It is both a shield and a disguise, speaking to the ways women survive by turning wounds into patterns of grace.
Lesson: Beauty can be a shield, but healing begins when we acknowledge what lies beneath.
