'Solace' is rendered on a richly patterned fabric base, using layers of acrylic, coloursoft pencil, graphite, and charcoal. All the outer blooms are hand cut fabric flowers, giving texture and vibrance. Sealed with spray varnish. 
 
The figure emerges and recedes - part of the botanical print, yet distinct - inviting the viewer to look closer and question what is revealed and what remains hidden.
 
“Solace” speaks to the kind of healing that happens privately — beneath composure, beneath expectation, beneath the surface we show the world. The florals move across her like memory, emotion, and tenderness intertwined. She is both concealed and revealed, dissolving into nature while somehow becoming more visible within it.

There is defiance in her look, and potentially distain, but there is also peace. The Peace that comes with owning how you feel, and standing strong within it.

Not the absence of deeper emotional feelings— but the moment we stop fighting ourselves within it.

Perhaps that is what solace truly is:
not escape,
but being gently held inside our own humanity.
